BASE YAKISOBA Reviews: Flavour, Texture, Portions and Price

Is BASE YAKISOBA worth trying? Customer comments on Rakuten Japan offer a useful starting point for comparing flavour, noodle texture and convenience. This is a roundup of published reviews and official information, not our own taste test. Information checked: October 21, 2026.
We focus on the Japanese three-flavour, six-cup set: salt yakisoba, seafood-soy-sauce mazesoba and sauce yakisoba. Comments about BASE BREAD or other product listings are not included.

What customers liked—and what did not suit everyone
- October 12, 2026 · 5★: enjoyed the variety, particularly sauce and salt.
- October 11, 2026 · 5★: found it convenient for working-from-home lunches.
- June 9, 2026 · 1★: found the salt flavour too mild.
- September 8, 2026 · 3★: noticed the noodle aroma but accepted it with sauce.
- September 29, 2026 · 1★: felt it differed from expected yakisoba.
These are brief paraphrases from individual reviews. Flavour preference and expectations matter; a complaint about one flavour does not describe every product in the range.
Use the reviews to choose, without explaining away criticism
Start with the flavour you normally enjoy and the occasion you need it for. A convenient lunch and a close substitute for a favourite conventional cup noodle are different goals. Nutrition may attract you to a product, while taste and texture determine whether you want it again. Neither needs to override the other.
That is our interpretation for choosing a meal, not a statement about why a particular reviewer was disappointed. Delivery or packaging complaints also matter to the purchase experience, but they should be distinguished from tasting notes.
A 2026 reformulation and an allergen change
BASE FOOD announced a range reformulation in April 2026. The announcement notes that old and new products could coexist during the transition. A recent review date does not by itself verify which version was eaten.
The allergen-change notice lists wheat, milk, sesame, soy, chicken and pork for the revised sauce yakisoba. Check the pack you receive even if you have bought the product before.
One cup is different from the manufacturer’s two-cup meal
| Sauce yakisoba | One cup | Two cups: calculated |
|---|---|---|
| Energy | 314 kcal | 628 kcal |
| Protein | 15.2 g | 30.4 g |
| Available carbohydrate (糖質) | 42.1 g | 84.2 g |
| Salt equivalent | 1.9 g | 3.8 g |
Source: official sauce-yakisoba nutrition information. These values are not for the other flavours. The manufacturer’s complete-nutrition statement is based on two cups providing at least one-third of the daily nutrient reference values, excluding fat, saturated fat, carbohydrates and sodium. See the qualification in the official release.
This is not a recommendation that everyone should eat two cups. Compare the quantity you intend to eat, including side dishes. A single-cup calorie figure and a two-cup nutrition claim should not be combined as if they referred to the same portion.
The checked Rakuten listing displayed ¥3,030 including tax with free shipping: ¥505 per cup or ¥1,010 for two, before coupons and points. Confirm checkout conditions, including the delivery destination. These are Japan-market prices, not an international delivered price.
Two common questions
Will eating it make me lose weight?
A reviewer’s reason for buying is not evidence of weight loss. Whether the meal replaces something else or adds to your usual food intake matters. Compare portions and the whole meal instead of treating a product name or nutrition claim as a promised result.
Is it wheat-free?
No. The official ingredients include whole-wheat flour and wheat flour. A customer describing a bean-like aroma does not establish that the noodles are made only from beans.
Choose by flavour, portion and the role in your day
BASE YAKISOBA can be considered as a convenient noodle option when you compare taste expectations, the amount you want and the price you will actually pay. A variety set provides a way to find a preferred flavour without assuming that one review applies to all of them.
