ZENB Noodle Reviews: Taste, Texture and What to Check Before Buying

How does ZENB Noodle taste, and is it easy to use? We checked customer comments on Rakuten Japan alongside the manufacturer’s product information. This is a review roundup, not a hands-on taste test. Information checked: October 21, 2026.
The useful question is not simply whether pea noodles taste exactly like wheat pasta. It is whether their texture, preparation and serving size fit the meals you want to make. This guide covers the Japanese round-noodle product; overseas ZENB ranges and labels may differ.

Older comments need context: round noodles changed in 2026
ZENB announced a reformulation of its round noodles, with online shipments switching gradually from July 6, 2026. The manufacturer’s announcement describes changes to texture. An older complaint is still a real customer experience, but it does not establish how the current version will taste to you. A review date alone also cannot identify the production batch.
For a first trial, choose a familiar sauce so that you can separate your reaction to the noodles from your reaction to a new recipe. Evaluate taste, cooking effort and the amount you can finish as three different questions. A bulk pack can be economical per serving and still be a poor fit for an occasional noodle eater.
Start with the instructions for the pack you receive
Use the packet directions and ZENB’s preparation guide, selecting the method for round noodles and your chosen hot or cold dish. Personal cooking tips in a review are experiences, not a replacement for the product instructions. We cannot determine why an individual batch stuck together without knowing the equipment and cooking conditions.
Compare the finished meal, not just the noodle portion
The Japanese round-noodle product page lists yellow pea flour as the ingredient and 262 kcal with 17.0 g protein per 80 g of dry noodles. Sauce and toppings add to the meal. A gluten-free or reduced-carbohydrate label does not mean unlimited portions or guaranteed weight loss.
If you are exploring low-calorie noodles, compare like-for-like portions with the meal you currently eat. For cost, include shipping, sauce and toppings, and check whether a coupon actually applies to you. Do not treat future points as an immediate cash discount.
Does gluten-free mean suitable for every allergy?
No. ZENB’s product information mentions wheat-containing products at manufacturing facilities and cautions people with allergies to legumes or peanuts. Check the current label and the guidance relevant to your allergy rather than treating “gluten-free” as “allergen-free.”
Our takeaway: choose a dish and a manageable pack size
A familiar meal gives you a useful starting point for trying a different noodle. Check the product version, follow its cooking instructions and choose an amount you can realistically finish. Positive and critical reviews both help when you match them to your own preferences.

How this article was prepared
We recorded the displayed rating totals and read the default review page plus comments filtered to one and three stars. We did not read every review or conduct a statistical sentiment analysis. We did not use Rakuten’s AI summary as evidence. Untried products and delivery-only comments were not treated as taste verdicts.
